Our Great Lakes need protection and you are uniquely equipped to help. ISEA knows people who live in the Grand Traverse Region care about their favorite trout stream, river, or special lake where you and your family go swimming and boating. We also know you have a vested interest in keeping all the water in the Grand Traverse Bay watershed clean and clear. Acutally, by protecting the waters flowing into Grand Traverse Bay, you also protect the value of your property.
To learn about the best practices for protecting our water, ISEA offers special day-long experiences called "A Day on the Bay". In the morning, guest speakers from around the region make presentations on some specific actions you can take to protect clean water. Each session will describe ways you can put these ideas into practice when you return home. After a lunch of locally grown food, you will have an opportunity to learn more about our precious freshwater resources during a sail aboard the schooner Inland Seas.
ISEA has held two successful "Day on the Bay" workshops in 2007 and 2008. For more information about the program specific to each year, click on the year of interest below.
In 2010, Day on the Bay workshops will be held Monday, July 16, August 6, August 11, and September 14, 2010. Programs will run from 9am - 5pm and will be held in Suttons Bay. Call the ISEA office at 231-271-3077 for more information or to register.
